The Metropolitan Police have automated the processing of Forms 87A and 87B.
The revised forms are more user-friendly and have been specifically designed to support the police in automatically entering information into their systems. As a result, they will no longer accept copies submitted in any other format.
Updated versions of both forms have been added to the London Safeguarding Children Procedures and can also be accessed here:
Form 87A: Referral to the Police
Form 87B: Request for Information from the Police
A letter from the Metropolitan Police explaining the reasons for this change has also been provided to partner agencies (please contact your safeguarding lead if you need a copy).
Action required: Please ensure that any locally saved or previously downloaded versions are replaced immediately with the updated forms.
Please note: Form 87P (Request for a discussion about a missing child) has not yet been updated and you should continue using the current version until further notice.
