Partnership Events and Engagement

Connecting leaders and partners to drive SEND improvement

LIIA delivers partnership events and engagement activity to connect stakeholders, share learning and strengthen leadership across London’s SEND system. These activities create space for collaboration, innovation and preparation for reform across education, health and care.

A flagship element of this work is LIIA’s annual London SEND Summit, a key gathering for the SEND Partnership in London. The Summit brings colleagues together to discuss strategic priorities, respond collectively to national policy and build strong cross-sector relationships. Recent Summits have focused on major national reforms and London’s response. In 2022, partners explored the DfE’s SEND and Alternative Provision Green Paper and developed a shared London position. In 2023, the focus moved to the SENDAP Improvement Plan, identifying challenges and opportunities for London’s system leadership. In 2024, the Summit brought together colleagues from Health, Local Authorities, National Government, Parent Carers and other partners to explore the Change Programme Partnerships and what they mean for London, and in 2026 the summit will focused on Inclusion and Practice Sharing.

Alongside the Summit, LIIA delivers thematic workshops, peer learning sessions and Listening to London engagement activity, informed by diagnostics, workforce voice and lived experience to reflect real system priorities.
