Social Care Practice Leaders Group

This group provides a forum to discuss and engage partners on strategic issues relating to children’s social care, early help and targeted services; to share best practice and, identify opportunities for further collaboration between London authorities and partners.

The ALDCS Social Care Practice Leaders Group was formerly known as the Assistant Directors of Social Care Network.

This group improve children’s social care practice to secure better outcomes for children, young people and their families; promote anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice; develop and support people working in children’s services, strengthen strategic partnerships, regional arrangements and practice; provide a strong voice on strategic and policy developments affecting children’s social care and early help; provide peer support and mutual aid.

The group consists of the senior children’s social care leader in the local authority.

Membership eligibility

The group consists of the most senior children’s social care leader in the local authority who reports to the Director of Children’s Services.

Management and Governance

The group is supported by the Association of London Directors of Children’s Services.

When do we meet?

At least eight times a year about every 6 weeks.
