Making Data Speak for London’s Children: Adolescent Safeguarding

The LIIA data & intelligence team supports the Adolescent Safeguarding priority though the creation and dissemination of various data products, ultimately led by the ALDCS SEND Steering Group.

This pages provides an overview of the data products which are currently available to support this work, as well as outlining ongoing and upcoming projects.

Currently available Dashboards

Violence and Exploitation Dashboard

Our VESS dashboard draws on publicly available data to provide a view of data related to violence and exploitation. It is tailored (where possible) to give a London Borough view of the impact within each borough, for children and young people. Currently data is taken from the websites of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), Youth Justice Board (YJB) and Ministry of Justice (MoJ), and data feeding the dashboard is updated quarterly.

This dashboard is publicly available and does not require a log in; please access the dashboard here.

VESS Referrals

The Violence and Exploitation Service (VESS) provides tailored, trauma-informed support for children and young adults in London who are affected by violence and exploitation. This dashboard records data on referrals made to the VESS service, as recorded by The Alliance, from June 2024 to November 2025. Please note that this dashboard was being updated quarterly, however it is no longer being updated as LIIA is not involved with VESS.

This data is confidential and is available here, (requires login).

Violence & Exploitation County Lines

County lines data for children and young people in London up to the age of 25 who have had a county lines ‘tag’ added to the Police National Database by police forces across England is visible in this dashboard. This dashboard is updated yearly using data which comes from the National County Lines Coordination Centre (NCLCC).

This data is confidential and is available here (requires login).

Upcoming Projects

The space below outlines some of our ongoing and upcoming projects.

Safeguarding Adolescents dashboards

LIIA will be creating two Safeguarding Adolescents dashboards: one containing only publicly available data which will be accessible to all on the public area of the website, and another using confidential data which will be accessible via the members’ area.

Youth Justice Board (YJB) dashboard

This dashboard will draw on data from the Youth Justice Board (YJB) on a quarterly basis.

Remanded Children in London

This dashboard will contain information provided by each local authority about remanded children in London and will be updated each month or quarter.
