LIIA’s SEND Regional Insights and Diagnostics programme brings together a wide range of intelligence to support Local Areas across London in understanding their strengths, challenges and priorities for improvement.
Drawing on evidence from Local Area SEND self-evaluation frameworks (SEFs), inspection outcomes, diagnostic reviews, workforce engagement activity and the Listening to London series, the programme identifies emerging pressures, system-wide trends and areas of shared challenge across the capital. By bringing together insight from multiple sources, the programme provides a richer understanding of the experiences of children and young people with SEND, their families and the workforce that supports them.
SEND Reform forms a key part of this work. LIIA has developed a regional overview of reform readiness and implementation by bringing together Local Area maturity matrices, local reform plans, quarterly returns and feedback provided through the reform process. This intelligence supports a shared understanding of how reforms are being implemented across London and helps identify emerging opportunities, challenges and risks.
By combining local insight with a regional perspective, the programme helps London partners learn from one another, identify common priorities and understand where further support, collaboration or system change may be needed to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Project Goals
This project aims to develop a shared, robust understanding of SEND across London using data, diagnostics and engagement. It brings together quantitative and qualitative insight to benchmark performance, identify priorities and inform universal and targeted support. The programme supports system leadership and reform readiness through practical, action-focused intelligence.
