The London Accommodation Pathfinder (LAP) is a pan-London initiative developed under the London Accommodation and Resettlement Partnership (LARP), providing a psychologically informed alternative to custody for 16–17 year old boys.
The LAP supports children on remand, as an alternative to custodial sentences, or as part of resettlement from custody, with referrals made via Youth Justice Services. A key priority of the LAP is to address the disproportionate representation of Black, Asian and mixed ethnicity children within the Youth Justice System.
A trauma informed approach, focusing on identity, self-development, education, relationships, and pathways to independence, is used to support children in shifting from pro-offending to pro-social identities.
LIIA support the development of the LAP alongside Camden Council who run the project and contract
