The London Innovation and Improvement Alliance (LIIA) is the Association of London Directors of Children’s Services (ALDCS) sector-led improvement partnership and is hosted by London Councils. We exist to facilitate collaboration to address ALDCS priorities, provide a platform for innovation, identify and share effective practice and produce and make accessible shared datasets.

Aligned to ALDCS priorities our programme is precisely focused on four key workstreams including; Adolescent Safeguarding, SEND, Resources and Workforce, underpinned by cross cutting themes, leading the delivery or work with London’s local authorities to collaborate in improving the outcomes and experience for children in the capital.

To support the development of our data and intelligence functions, LIIA’s most significant  workstream that cuts across all of our projects, we are seeking a highly motivated and technically capable Intelligence Lead with enthusiasm, innovative ideas, strong communication skills with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a dynamic policy environment.

What you’ll do

LIIA has a varied and exciting programme of work, delivering research, joint projects and policy advocacy to support children’s services within the boroughs.

As a technically capable intelligence professional, with advanced proficiency in the use of dashboard software such as Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a portfolio of data products for the London Innovation and Improvement Alliance (LIIA), that inform strategy and practice across children’s services in London.  You will have a flexible attitude to providing data products and be adaptable.  The tasks can vary from building Power BI dashboards from scratch to manually updating tools in excel, downloading reports in power point or producing summaries in word documents for our stakeholders.

You will work closely with all London’s Local Authorities will be critical to the continued development of the dataset and products that support the work of The London Innovation and Improvement Alliance (LIIA) on behalf of the Association of London Directors of Children’s Services (ALDCS) sector-led improvement partnership (hosted by London Councils).

This will involve maintaining existing products with data refresh when new data releases are available and ensuring effective stakeholder involvement, consultation and communication relating to data.

It is essential that you are highly numerate with excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrating advanced statistical and analytical abilities, including for example the use of spreadsheets, databases, coding, statistical analysis packages to analyse and manipulate large and complex datasets (e.g. Excel, Power Query, Power BI, Python, SQL or others such as Business Objects, SSRS)
