On 18 April, LIIA hosted a Youth Justice Strategic Leaders event to mark the launch of Professor Steve Case and Professor Neal Hazel’s new compendium: Child First: Developing the New Youth Justice System.
Steve and Neal were joined by some of the authors who have written chapters for the book (including LIIA’s Strategic Lead, Ben Byrne, Tim Bateman and John Drew) for a discussion on the prospects for Child First youth justice and the particular challenges and opportunities in London.
It was a very well attended with 60 attendees, and the presentations were followed by powerful discussions with colleagues from across London.
Also referenced in the seminar was Just Fair, the Staff College’s new publication on tackling racial disparities in the YJ system and beyond.
